Mail
West Air operates on mail routes throughout Sweden, 6 nights a week using mail cages on wheels. The same "roll-on" cages used in sorting terminals and on road transport are loaded directly into our aircraft allowing fast and efficient handling.
The high demands of this niche market have given us an appreciation of customised equipment, fast turn-round times and delivering to tight schedules. We have expanded the mail operation year on year within Sweden, and intend in 2000 to take it further into other Scandinavian countries.
Parcel & Packages
Nowhere is the competition tougher than in the "next-day-delivery" parcel and package business. Our customers in this sector require of us absolute reliability, but we are able to offer more.
By highly tuning the operation, using all the skills learned, we are able to make time-savings and in doing so improve the service aspect of our customers business. Then utilising technical expertise, and experience in the effective use of containerisation, we are able not only to bring direct financial benefits but also improve the quality of their service.
Schedule Freight
More and more freight is travelling by air in Europe. For the time sensitive industries of today the cost of a failure in transportation is immense. The electronics and automotive industries have high value cargo which must arrive at it's destination in good condition, and on time! West Air can provide a reliable solution, often delivering consignments by air more cost effectively than can other available forms of transport.
Ad hoc Charters
Our first ad hoc charter was a consignment of cheese, picked up in Denmark and brought to Sweden. Not an obvious commodity to transport by air but the need arose from strike action being taken by another of the transport industries; one of many reasons for an ad hoc charter.
More commonly it is the very structure of modern industries themselves that necessitates a charter of this kind be made. Many of our consumer goods are produced in more than one country and the process is often dependent upon a chain of production processes. When these are interrupted or a supply becomes inadequate the result can be costly.
